South Carolina Military Family Relief Fund
The South Carolina Military Family Relief Fund (SCMFRF), signed into law in 2004 by Governor Mark Sanford, provides monetary grants to families of South Carolina National Guard members and South Carolina residents serving in the U.S Armed Forces Reserve components who were called to active duty as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Veteran Home Care in South Carolina
There are six state-run Veteran home facilities in South Carolina. Admission to these facilities is limited to Veterans who have been separated from the U.S. Armed Forces under general or honorable conditions and qualify as South Carolina citizens who are in need of skilled or intermediate nursing home care. To obtain additional information, or to apply for admission, contact your local county Veterans’ affairs officer or the Veteran home.

(USVetConnect.com) is a national nonprofit platform that connects veterans with free outdoor activities, therapeutic programs, and community-based organizations across the United States. Its “Outdoors Resource Hub” helps veterans easily discover opportunities like hiking, fishing, farming, and retreats designed to promote healing, camaraderie, and overall well-being.
The Low Country Veterans Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans, their families, and the surrounding community across the South Carolina Lowcountry. Their mission is to improve quality of life by providing critical services such as housing assistance, VA benefits guidance, mental health counseling, and emergency support.
In addition to direct services, the organization fosters a strong sense of community through events, partnerships, and outreach programs, including food assistance and clothing resources. By connecting veterans with essential resources and peer support, Low Country Veterans Group works to ensure that no veteran faces life’s challenges alone
